We Demand Answers!!! Tell the Truth!!! On July 11th, 1992 seven gay men were assasinated [sic: assassinated] by death squads in Mexico City. Among them was Dr. Francisco Estrada Valle, an activist and prominent educator on AIDS, and also co-founder of Ave De Mexico, an AIDS organization. The other victims were also activists and educators on AIDS and human and civil rights for gays and lesbians. The climate of apathy and indifference from police and the 'yellow journalism' on the part of the press, serves to incite and promote homophobia and AIDSphobia. This is the beginning of a violent reaction against people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. Join us in a protest against this horrible massacre on Friday, August 14th at 6:00 P.M. Meet at the corner of Glendale and Park (1 block south of Sunset Boulevard) for a Candlelight March along Alvarado Street towards the Mexican consulate in McArthur Park (please bring candles for the Candlelight Vigil) Sponsored By: La Red ACT/UP LA Queer Nation Cara A Cara Latino AIDS Project Viva AHF All Saints and other AIDS, pro-human rights, and lesbian and gay rights organizations.
